What you’re turning in:
1. A recipe you connect with
Bring a physical, tangible copy of a recipe that matters to you.
Important rules
No electronic submissions this month (no Google Classroom, email, photos, etc.)
Do NOT bring an original recipe — bring a copy only
Your recipe can be handwritten, typed, or printed
Your recipe must be detailed and include:
Title
Ingredients + amount
Clear instructions/steps (and any helpful details like cook time, temperature, serving size, etc.)
2. A written explanation about the recipe
Write at least one full paragraph (minimum 5–7 sentences).
Most strong explanations will be more than one paragraph, so aim for a well-rounded, detailed response.
Your writing must have:
Correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar
Clear sentence structure
Neat, readable formatting
Use figurative language and sensory details to paint a picture with your words (sight, sound, smell, taste, touch).
What your explanation must include
Answer all three parts below:
Why do you connect with this recipe?
What does it mean to you? Is it comfort food? A holiday tradition? Something someone special makes/made for you? The first thing you learned to make on your own?
How did you get the recipe?
Who did you ask? What did you say? How did you get it (text, cookbook, handwritten card, etc.)?
Describe the dish to someone who has never had it.
What would you say so they can “picture” it? What does it look like, smell like, taste like, and feel like?
