Mr. Matt Melton, Principal

Our Principal, Mr. Matt Melton, has been at JMMS for 20 years and the Principal for six years.  He loves this school and the students that attend it. He has always said that this is a special place and every day is a good day at Jimmy Madison.

Mr. Sean Watts, Assistant Principal

Our Assistant Principal is Mr. Sean Watts, and he has been in education for 15 years. This is his sixth year as the Assistant Principal.  Before coming to James Madison, he spent 9 years teaching Health/PE and coaching baseball.  He spent six years at Muhlenberg County High School and 3 years at Southside Elementary School.  His goal is to try and make a positive impact on students, however, this is not always easy in his role.  James Madison truly has the best students and faculty.Mr. Sean Watts

Mrs. Tara Cardwell, Guidance Counselor

This is Mrs. Cardwell’s 19th year in education and her 13th year as a Middle School Counselor.  She absolutely loves the middle school age!  The growth and development she gets to witness in students over a 3-year transformation is a true sight to behold.  She is thankful to be able to stand beside them and support them on their journey.

Dr. Beth Fleming, Mental Health Counselor

Dr. Fleming says joining the JMMS family as the mental health counselor in her 25th year in education has been a highlight of her journey!  She is passionate about supporting and guiding our bright middle schoolers through their unique challenges and triumphs.  Here’s to a year of growth, resilience and memorable moments.

Mr. David Taylor, Building Coach

Mr. Taylor has been the building coach at James Madison for the past ten years.  Before he was the building coach at our school, he worked as a special education teacher at James Madison and Browning Springs.  What he likes best about working at James Madison is building relatinships with our students and seeing the staff care about them. He believes we have the best students in Hopkins County.

Mr. Len Young, Instructional Leader

This is Mr. Young’s fourth year as the Instructional Leader at James Madison.  Before becoming the Instructional Leader, Mr. Youg spent 23 years teaching science and social studies, mostly at James Madison.  He spent the first four years of his career at Browning Springs.  What he likes best about his job is being able to interact daily with the students and staff by helping them have the resources they need.
