Hello school community

Welcome to this week's edition of the James Madison Middle School Newsletter! We're excited to share the latest happenings and updates from our school community to keep you informed and engaged.

JMMS TEAM INFORMATION

6th Grade Information

READING:
📚 AR Reminder – 8 Points Due February 27th.
Just a reminder that students must have 8 AR points by February 27th. Please encourage your child to keep reading at home and checking their progress!
In class, we are currently reading The Watsons Go to Birmingham – 1963. The novel follows the Watson family as they travel from Michigan to Birmingham, Alabama during the Civil Rights Movement. Through humor, family dynamics, and powerful historical moments, students experience an important time in history through the eyes of a relatable family.
The students are really enjoying the story — especially the funny sibling moments — and we’re having great discussions along the way!
Thank you for helping support reading at home! 📖✨

Youth Service Center

Making Valentine’s Day brighter for elementary kids is a tradition for students and staff at James Madison Middle School. In a project led by the Youth Services Center, the school community has created more than 100 hand-made boxes that will go to students at Jesse Stuart, Grapevine, and Hanson Elementary schools. They’re also giving more than 500 Valentine’s cards to the younger students! #TeamHopkins
