Welcome to this week's edition of the James Madison Middle School Newsletter! We're excited to share the latest happenings and updates from our school community to keep you informed and engaged.

NTI DAYS HCS At HOME Expectations

NTI Day Expectations
  • Student Assignments: All students are required to complete their daily assignments. Work is posted within each teacher’s Google Classroom. Alternatively, you may access your specific grade-level Choice Board by clicking here.
  • Teacher Support: Teachers and staff are available to assist you throughout the school day. You can reach out with questions via email or through ParentSquare.
 

JMMS TEAM INFORMATION

7th Grade Information

ELA: Students have the opportunity to submit for publication in the Gadfly magazine. Students can receive extra credit for submissions as well (with proof). Also, please encourage your student to turn in their NTI assignments ASAP. 
Next week we will begin our Trial Prep for our mock trial as we finish our Argumentative and Persuasive writing unit.



 

8th Grade Information

Our January Bowling trip has been rescheduled as well. We will be going February 13.
The CTC trip is still on the calendar for February 11. Permission slips are due!

JMMS FOOTBALL BANQUET

The football banquet will be Friday February 20th from 7:15-9:15 PM at the YMCA pool. Parents are welcome to stay or drop their student-athlete off.
 

JMMS Volleyball Begins

Our JMMS Volleyball Season begins this week.

HCCHS DANCE TEAM RESULTS

Congratulations to Sadie Stanley, she is an 8th grade student who competes for the Dance Team at Central. We also have several former students who are on the team this year.

WOW! 
Hopkins County Central HS High Voltage dance team won TWO National Championships this weekend! They won their divisions in both Pom and Hip Hop at the UDA National Dance Team Championship in Orlando. What an AMAZING accomplishment!!

Amazing Shake

Amazing Shake Participants,
Thank you for your enthusiasm and preparation for the Amazing Shake competition. 
The competition has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 10th. We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work to ensure a meaningful and successful experience for everyone involved.
Please continue preparing, and let us know if you have any questions or concerns regarding the new date. We are excited to see you showcase your skills and professionalism at the competition.

Beta Club Information

Field trip to The Edge Ice Center in Owensboro will take place on February 18. Information on that trip was sent out through Parent Square and can be paid for through School Cash Online.
 

Madisonville North Hopkins Swim Team

The students in Bold are students at JMMS. Many of the students listed below are former students.

Our Madisonville North Hopkins Swim Team represented the school on February 2nd in the regional swim meet. The following athletes qualified for the semi state competition in Bowling Green this coming up Saturday. 
Addison Howard in the 200 IM, 100 Backstroke, and relay team
Ellen Eveland in the 200 Freestyle, 500 Freestyle and relay team
Ava Evans in the relay team
Iris Turley in the relay team
JD Brown in 2 relay teams
Gavin Bunch in 2 relay teams, 200 IM, 100 Breaststroke
Aiden Clark in 500 Freestyle 
Camden Clark in relay team
Gage Garst in relay team
Jude Gamblin in relay team, 50 Free, 100 Back Stroke
Jaden Gonzalez in relay team
Sy Soriano in 2 relay teams, 200 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle
We are so proud of the team and Coach Burnison for the amazing year and good luck to this upcoming weekend

Winter Guard Show

We are so excited to share some wonderful news!
This Saturday, 02/07, our fellow JMMS Patriots will be competing in the JV and Varsity MNHHS Winter Guard at Green Hill High School for the first competition of the season! 🤍✨
Please help us cheer on:
Paislee Reasons, Victoria Thomasson, Charleigh Scott, Hayley Chen, Lexus Mankel, Harlee Wallace, Marissa Crawford, Addison Carter, Kimber Scorsur, Ali Gibson and Bella Willis
These students will take the floor and perform their hearts out in:

We are incredibly proud of their dedication, hard work, and commitment to representing JMMS at the high school level. Best of luck to all our performers—we can’t wait to watch you shine!
 

HCCHS Tennis Information

HCCHS Tennis practice will begin on Tuesday, February 17th, after school at the high school tennis courts. They will practice from 3:00-5:00. Please dress appropriately. Bring your racquet if you have one. If the weather is bad, we will go indoors. You must have a current athletic physical on file to practice. Students who are in the 7th or 8th grade and are zoned for Hopkins County Central are eligible.
