Hello school community

Welcome to this week's edition of the James Madison Middle School Newsletter! We're excited to share the latest happenings and updates from our school community to keep you informed and engaged.

Sources of Strength

Sources of Strength at JMMS

Today, several of our students and a few staff members participated in Sources of Strength training.
Lunch was generously provided by the Hopkins County Health Department.

Sources of Strength is a program that empowers peer leaders to work alongside caring adults to promote mental wellness and resilience. Together, they help spread positive messages about the strengths that support young people through difficult times. Peer leaders will also encourage others to connect, reach out, and seek help during emotionally challenging moments.

ELA: Our students are currently working on their narrative essays! We have seen some great ideas taking shape in class, and I encourage students to continue writing and developing their stories on their own as well. Writing a little each day helps build confidence and creativity.
  • Please remind your student to submit this week’s completed assignments in Google Classroom so their work is up to date (Expanding Sentences and Creating Stronger Sentences).
  • Our vocabulary words with sentence examples are always posted in Google Classroom for easy access and review.
  • Our next Vocabulary and Spelling Quiz will be Thursday, October 23, covering Week 7 and Week 8 words. Encourage your student to review a few minutes each evening, as consistent practice makes a big difference.
