JMMS 7th Grade Football: Congratulations to the 6th/7th grade Patriot football team for finishing third in the WKAC regular season and qualifying for a conference playoff game. They will play Browning Springs at Browning Springs Middle School, Monday afternoon at 5:30 PM. Since this is not a regular season game students wanting to attend will have to pay $7.00. Students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. CLICK HERE to pay online.

Blue and White Spirit Night: Fundraiser Event. Admission will be $5 for all, including students, with all proceeds going to cheer, dance, boys' basketball and girls' basketball. JMMS Archery: Coach Drake will be having a parent meeting for any JMMS student interested in participating in Archery this school year. The parent meeting will take place on Thursday, October 16th at 5:30 PM. The meeting will be in the JMMS cafeteria. Important information will be reviewed and handed out at this meeting. All students must have an up-to-date sports physical before they can practice with the Archery team.
PTO Shirt Order: You should have received a copy of the PTO Shirt Order form. You have until the end of the month to place your orders. Proceeds for the sales goes to help support our students and staff at JMMS. The last day to order is September 30th.

ESS Schedule: If your student has missing assignments, needs help with assignments or just needs a quiet place to read for AR, please have them come to ESS. We are here to help!
Afternoon sessions will count for ¼ of a point. The morning sessions will count for ⅛ of a point. Students must earn a minimum of 1 full point for them to count.
Students must be picked up at 3:50 in the front of the school.

JMMS Academic Team Tryouts (All Grade Levels):
Are you ready to challenge yourself and represent our school in academic competitions? Academic team tryouts will be held right after school until 3:30 PM on September 30 and October 1. We encourage all interested students to attend and showcase their knowledge and skills!
We understand that some students participate in KYA meetings on Wednesdays. We will discuss how to manage this scheduling conflict during the tryouts on Tuesday.
Qualifications to Join the Academic Team:
Maintain an overall “B” average in your classes.
Demonstrate good behavior in all classes.
Commit to attending all practices. If you must miss a practice, please notify one of the coaches in advance.

JMMS 6th Grade Information:
Reading:
AR points will be due at the end of this month (Tuesday, Sept. 30!). Please help your student stay on track toward their 8-point goal by encouraging daily reading.
SCIENCE:
On October 3, Land Between the Lakes will be here and conduct a presentation about KY wildlife and some animals will be brought in!
Halloween Trunk or Treat
We’re excited for our upcoming Trunk or Treat celebration! We are still accepting sign-ups for families who would like to decorate their trunk and pass out candy.
We also need lots of candy donations to make this event extra special—thank you in advance for helping us fill those treat buckets.
Your support helps create a fun and memorable evening for our 6th graders! Sign ups are still open in Parent Square!

JMMS 7th Grade Information:
We are excited to offer a Fall Festival to our students in October! Please see the attached flyer to see how you can help make this possible! We appreciate your help.
Reminder - 7th Grade Late Work Policy: Late work will only be accepted for 5 days after the due date! After day 5, missing work remains a zero.
Reading - 10 points are due by September 29th. Four days and counting. Please check with your student regarding their AR points. Each student is able to access the Renaissance program through the Clever app. Students may use (2) of the Renaissance articles toward their 10 point goal. The Renaissance program is available from 7am- 3:50pm. Book tests must be completed in the reading classroom; however articles may be completed in any class, ESS or at home prior to 3:50.

JMMS 8th Grade Information:
Ms. Bearden’s classes completed a research project which included research of a local veteran that lost their lives during the Vietnam Conflict. Their projects are now on display in the hallway.
